VERNACULAR CONTEMPORARY ART
THE INVENTION OF A TRADITION
The Indians call Contemporary Art from local culture, mainly from tribal origin, Vernacular Contemporary Art. "Vernacular in the Contemporary" is the title of the two-part exhibition organized by the Devi Art Foundation (New Delhi 2010 - 2011). Vernacular Contemporary Art, as Art Brut or Outsider Art, are becoming more and more visible on the international art world. Indian artists represented by Hervé Perdriolle since 1996 belong to this history in motion.
